Everyone can use some help in coming up with ideas for activities to do at home. We’ve got a few suggestions to add some adventure to the mix for you and your family.
Wherever you are, if you’ve got a computer, tablet or smartphone, there are plenty of ways for you to connect with others, entertain yourself, and maybe even learn something new along the way.
Here’s our current list of activity recommendations—with more to come—while you’re staying home:
Live From the High Seas
One of those activities sure to be listed each week: Live From the High Seas. Catch stunning live footage of sunsets, sunrises and more, from our ships and private island destinations like Coco Beach Club at Perfect Day at CocoCay. We’ll also have polls, so you can help decide the next livestream location! Grab your coffee or cocktail, tune in and kick back.
World Wildlife Fun Activities
We’re proud to have a years-long partnership with World Wildlife Fund, and they also have great activities that can entertain and educate both kids and adults. Their WWF Together app lets you navigate an interactive experience to get closer to and learn about elephants, whales, rhinos and other wild animals. It’s packed with fun at-home activities too, like animal origami (start with their giant panda logo.)
For even more educational options for kids, visit the WWF Wild Classroom that has in-depth toolkits you can use to teach them about their favorite creatures. And starting April 5, you can stream all episodes of the Emmy Award-winning Netflix documentary Our Planet with beautiful, rare footage and fascinating animal facts.
Virtual Happy Hours
We are hosting virtual happy hours on Facebook, so you can pour yourself a glass of wine, grab a beer or even shake up a cocktail (or mocktail) with other would-be cruisers.
Want to really set the scene? Try using one of our Zoom virtual backgrounds. Just download the images, enable virtual backgrounds in Zoom, upload your favs, and sip your drinks from St. Maarten, the Caribbean-inspired pool deck of Navigator of the Seas, or with the North Star observation capsule and Alaskan glaciers behind you.
Pro tip: With Zoom meetings gaining in popularity—why not take your next conference call from the first floating cabanas in The Bahamas?
Family Fun
It’s safe to say most families are looking for more activities to keep kids entertained, and coloring is an old standby. We’ve created fun aquatic templates your whole family can color in—just click this link and click on “comments” to access our dolphins, mermaid and stingray sheets. No printer? No problem. Virtual coloring saves on supplies and lets you easily share your masterpiece in the comments after you’ve completed it using the “markup” feature on your smartphone or a computer application—we want to see that talent!
And there you have it. Be sure to check back for updates to our list, and stay tuned to our Facebook page for the latest on how you and your family can stay entertained while hanging out at home.
